David O. Russell's romantic comedy about mental illness, dance, and the Philadelphia Eagles, Silver Linings Playbook, won the affections of the International Press Academy this weekend, practically sweeping their Satellite Awards. The film took the top prize, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper were awarded in the acting categories, and Russell scored for directing. So far the film has mostly scored in the acting and best adapted screenplay categories. Meanwhile, Anne Hathaway dreamed her dream to a supporting actress prize for her work in Les Misérables, and Javier Bardem's blonde and creepy Skyfall villain made him tops in the supporting actor category. 

Les Misérables fell relatively flat after leading the Satellite nominations, but as GoldDerby pointed out, we're not making too many predictions based off these awards. Rob Licuria explained, upon the announcement of the Satellite nominees that the IPA is a group that originated by breaking free from the Golden Globe's Hollywood Foreign Press Association. He added: "They are renowned for making left-field choices that don’t often reflect the tastes of their foreign colleagues, who are much more invested in being an Oscar bellwether."
