President Obama's re-election heartened Democrats and disappointed Republicans, but in the Lone Star State — no stranger to secessionist movements — many Texans began drafting a wild plan to cleave Texas from the United States to form a separate country. On last night's episode of The Daily Show, correspondent Jessica Williams tried to capture the root anxiety driving the most recent attempt at secession by parachuting into suburban Houston, where she documented — and, in a few cases, encouraged — several Texans' ongoing struggle to win independence from the tyranny of Barack Obama, gun control, and non-Biblical law.
