Two suicide bombers attacked a crowd celebrating outside of a Sufi shrine in Multan, Pakistan earlier today. The blasts are suspected to have killed at least 30 people and injured 100, some of them critically.
A crowd had gathered to celebrate the anniversary of the Sakhi Sarwar shrine, when the blasts went off. Praying, singing and meditating outside of shrines dedicated to holy men is popular in Pakistan. Because of this shrines have become targets for extremists who practice a more austere version of Islam.
Police are now saying that 41 people have been killed, according to Reuters.
