Dominique Strauss-Kahn won't spend the night in New York's Rikers Island jail tonight, but he won't get to sleep in a luxury apartment in the Bristol Plaza, either. The New York Times is reporting that the security company that will monitor Strauss-Kahn will put him up until he can find an apartment of his own:

Mr. Strauss-Kahn will be staying at a corporate-housing building used by the security company, Stroz Friedberg, which has been hired to guard him while he remains under 24-hour home confinement, according to the official at State Supreme Court in Manhattan. He had been expected to leave on Friday from Rikers, where he has been held after being arrested last Saturday on sexual assault charges.

According to that same article, Strauss-Kahn's wife, Anne Sinclair, had rented two apartments in the Bristol Plaza, but "by midday, it was clear that the arrangements for the apartment — arrangements that figured in a judge’s decision to grant bail and approve his release — had fallen apart."

Update (4:45 p.m.): Fox New York has it that Strauss-Kahn was barred from moving into the Bristol Plaza by the board of the co-op, which got an "11th hour injunction to block the former IMF chief." His temporary flat is located in lower Manhattan, near the site of the former World Trade Center towers. CNN's Richard Roth tweeted that Strauss-Kahn's lawyer was blaming the location change on "members of press trying invade his private residence."
