Today we relayed the news that the Associated Press had struck a deal with North Korea to open a bureau in the notoriously isolated and militaristic nation. The AP will set up in Pyongyang, where it will work with the state-run Korean Central News Agency. The bureau will be "the first permanent text and photo bureau operated by a Western news organization in the North Korean capital," according to the wire service. The prospect made reader jdinbalt just a bit nervous:

Why do I get the sinking feeling that this will turn out like the recent 30 Rock episode where Kim Jong Il forces Avery Jessup-Donaghy to be his propaganda mouthpiece?
