Dominique Strauss-Kahn asked for diplomatic immunity when he was first arrested for attempted rape by New York Port Authority Police, according to a document filed by prosecutors today. The former director of the International Monetary Fund, now on house arrest in a TriBeCa townhouse, faces seven criminal counts that carry possible sentences of 25 years in prison for allegedly trying to rape a housekeeper in Midtown's Sofitel hotel. A voluntary disclosure document posted on the New York criminal court's Web site today provides a transcript of some of the dialogue immediately after Strauss-Kahn was arrested on board an Air France flight at New York's John F. Kennedy Jr. International Airport. 

The posting marks the second time a party in the case has inserted a barb into the public record as part of a court filing. In late May, Strauss-Kahn's defense lawyers took a swipe at the Sofitel maid's credibility by suggesting, in an unrelated affidavit, that they had information would be embarrassing to her. Strauss-Kahn's next court date is July 18.
