Rupert Murdoch appeared alongside his son James in Parliamentary hearings Tuesday afternoon. Speaking mostly in brief, even single word sentences, the elder Murdoch clearly took a backseat to his son when it came to answering aggressive questions from Members of Parliament. The committee denied Rupert Murdoch the opportunity to give a statement before the hearing began, but Murdoch interjected. "This is the most humble day of my life," he said. The hearing commenced, and we couldn't help but notice how the 80-year-old CEO struggled to keep up. For the first half hour, he deferred questions to his son repeatedly, pounded the desk to make points and looked otherwise fairly confused.
