Dominique Strauss-Kahn's lawyers have told the Associated Press that they plan to file a criminal complaint for slander against Tristane Banon should she file charges against him for attempted rape. Banon announced Monday that she would file charges against Strauss-Kahn for an attempted rape that allegedly happened during a book interview in 2002. Lawyers for Strauss-Kahn said that the Frenchman “has always said that the incident described by Ms. Banon since 2007 is imaginary,” in a statement released Monday. They also remarked that the new complaint came, "quite conveniently right at the moment when there is no longer the slighest doubt about the false nature of the accusations against him in the United States."
