On Monday afternoon, the final day before the defense's deadline to answer the suit, Dominique Strauss-Kahn has requested for dismissal of the civil suit filed by Nafissatou Diallo, who accused him of sexual assault, reports Reuters.  "Former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn asked a judge on Monday to dismiss a civil suit filed by a hotel maid who accused him of sexual assault, saying he was immune from such a suit under international law when it was filed." Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance already dismissed criminal charges against Strauss-Kahn back in August, leaving him to face this civil suit. The motion was expected, but we wonder why it took so long? Perhaps the defense was looking for just the right reason to throw the case away?
