A Saudi prince who is the largest individual stakeholder in Citigroup and the second-largest investor in News Corporation faces newly-reopened rape charge after the initial 2008 case accusing him of raping a 20-year-old model on a yacht near Ibiza was closed last year due to lack of evidence. A Spanish provincial court decided, after an appeal, to reopen the case against Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, the nephew of King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia and the 26th richest man in the world. "The accuser did not go public, and the original complaint appears to have remained largely unknown," The New York Times reported on Tuesday. "The case was quietly closed in July 2010 for what a judge on the Mediterranean resort island of Ibiza called a lack of evidence." Now that it's been reopened, the provincial court has ordered Judge Carmen Martín Montero to summon Prince Alwaleed and move the case forward. Alwaleed, through a spokeswoman, denied the incident ever happened. According to The Times, Alwaleed "has long been outspoken about expanding opportunities for women in the kingdom." His accuser, going by her middle name Soraya, says she was drugged when he raped on his yacht, which he invited her to at an Ibiza nightclub.
