The French magazine L'Express is reporting that the Paris prosecutors has dropped the Dominique Strauss Kahn rape complaint filed by Tristane Bannon. Banon is quoted saying (forgive our Google translation): "It is not that word against word. Why in principle, any doubt should benefit the accused and not the victim? Was at least one certainty: he lied several times in the United States and France!" (Or, for those who speak French: "Parce que le dossier n'est pas si vide que ça. Ce n'est pas que parole contre parole. Pourquoi par principe, le doute profite à l'accusé et pas à la victime? On a au moins une certitude: il a menti plusieurs fois, aux Etats-Unis et en France!")   We reported on the probe last month, and noted that the judge, at the time, had three options: " to drop the case, open it for further investigation or proceed with a trial." Back in September, the 32-year-old writer had said she'd been waiting to confront Strauss-Kahn. DSK then filed a counter-suit alleging slander. Banon had threatened to sue DSK if French prosecutors did not pursue a criminal case.
