With the hindsight of a few days, Libya's National Transitional Council is saying that those responsible for shooting Qaddafi will be prosecuted with a fair trial, The Guardian relayed. On the chaotic day of his death last week, Libya's Prime Minister had said that the dictator was killed in crossfire, and it was later confirmed that it was by a gunshot wound to the head. It seems that the gruesome accounts of his death, calls for an investigation into the circumstances, and, presumably, the widely circulated videos of the frantic moments before Qaddafi was killed had an effect. Abdel Hafiz Ghoga, deputy chief of the NTC, told Al Arabiya:

"We had already launched an investigation. We have issued a code of ethics in handling of prisoners of war. I am sure that was an individual act and not an act of revolutionaries or the national army," the top interim official said. "Whoever is responsible for that (Qaddafi’s killing) will be judged and given a fair trial."
