Update 3:43 p.m.: The Indonesian government has lifted the tsunami warning. Phew!

Update:The Associated Press reports that though the quake wakened many in the city of Banda Aceh, no significant damage has been reported and, thankfully, there's no sign of tsunami waves so far.

Indonesia's government issued a tsunami warning after magnitude 7.3 earthquake near the island of Sumatra, which of course recalls the devastating tsunami that hit south Asia in 2004.
