In what's probably the most exciting news about the Nobel Peace Prize other than the actual announcement, a spokesman has announced that 231 nominations have been submitted but won't reveal the names, leading to today's guessing games. "The secretive committee doesn’t reveal who has been nominated, but those with nomination rights sometimes announce their pick," reports the AP.

Among the names being reported by various news sources: Suspected Wiki-leaker Bradley Manning, former President Bill Clinton, and now-jailed former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko. The AFP notes that the European Union, debt crisis and all, is one of the 43 organizations up for the award. The winners will be announced in October.
