Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is touting his ability to use military power against Iran in the near future, telling Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, "Like any sovereign country, we reserve the right to defend ourselves against a country that calls and works for our destruction."

Netanyahu is scheduled to meet with President Obama next week, and it's becoming increasingly clear that he may ask the U.S. to get more aggressive with Iran. Reuters' Matt Spetalnick and Jeffrey Heller explained in Friday afternoon update, "Netanyahu is coming to Washington to press Obama to more forcefully declare 'red lines' that Iran must not cross in its nuclear program, Israeli officials say, even as speculation mounts that the Jewish state could act militarily on its own in coming months." All of this comes the same day as The Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg posted an interview with the president, who told him,  "Every single commitment I have made to the state of Israel and its security, I have kept... Why is it that despite me never failing to support Israel on every single problem that they've had over the last three years, that there are still questions about that?"
