A Tibetan exile set himself on fire Monday during an anti-China demonstration in India's capital, the latest in a growing string of self-immolations in protest of Chinese rule over the region. The man, who was identified as Jampa Yeshi, survived the incident but was treated for severe burns at a local hospital. There have been more than 30 such incidents since 2009, mainly in Beijing or Tibet itself, with most coming in the last year. Protesters were holding a rally near the Indian Parliament in New Delhi ahead of a summit visit by Chinese President Hu Jintao later this week. According to the AP, Yeshi set himself on fire during a speech then ran more than 50 yards before collapsing. Indian police expect more protests throughout the week, as many Tibetan exiles now call India home.
