An appeal of the acquittal verdicts for six Egyptian officials means Mubarak's life sentence is being appealed too. Reuters reports that Egypt's general prosecutor is planning to appeal the verdicts against the six interior ministry officials who were acquitted yesterday for their roles in the killing of protestors during the Egyptian uprising. As the Associated Press points out, under Egyptian law the prosecutor must appeal the entire verdict given, which would include the life sentences of Hosni Mubarak and Habib al-Adli. The six officials have also been banned from leaving the country, according to Reuters' report. After the verdicts were announced yesterday, Egyptian protestors filled Tahrir Square to voice their displeasure that Mubarak was only sentenced to life in prison.
