RPG Fire Greets British Ambassador's Convoy in Libya

Scary news out of Libya today: It appears that there has been an rocket-propelled grenade attack on a British convoy in the country.

The attack happened in the Libyan city of Benghazi around 1,000 feet from the British consulate office, according to Al Jazeera."A convoy carrying the British ambassador to Libya was involved in a serious incident in Benghazi this afternoon," a British embassy spokesperson said. "Two close protection officers were injured in the attack but all other staff are safe and uninjured."  The scene, from what the AFP describes, sounded a bit scarier as witnesses and journalists said the RPG hit the armored vehicle and reported blood on the passenger seat. The reason for alarm is that today's attack caps a rough month of anti-Western violence, as there have been attacks on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi just five days ago (when it announced the death of Al Qaeada's then number two, Abu Yahya al-Libi). There was also an RPG attack on the Red Cross headquarters late last month, and an attack on the UN recently
