Update 9:18 a.m.  Herman just tweeted this out:

And if you click on the picture, it's actually the same woman who South Korean officials believed was Hyong Song-wol (mentioned below in the original).

Original: Two, have apparently become Un. But just who, exactly, the Supreme Leader of North Korea married is sort of a mystery. North Korean state-sponsored television announced that Kim Jong-un was married, reports Voice of America's Bureau Chief Steve Herman. Herman has been covering the Korean Peninsula and Japan, and  tweeted this out today:

According to another tweet by Herman, "Ri had appeared alongside Kim in recent weeks but #DPRK media had not made any mention of her until tonight."

That unfamiliar name took us by surprise, since Kim had been widely reported as canoodling (by North Korean standards) with Hyon Song-wol, the former front woman for an electric symphony band called the Bonchonbo Electronic Music Band whose hits include "Excellent Horse-like Lady." Business Insider's Gus Lubin is "assuming" that it's the same woman, though there's also a possibility that Ms. Excellent Horse-like Lady might have been jilted or reports about Hyong Song-wol's identity might have been incorrect. Herman points us to the video below, tweeting: "Here's a video of the woman who is apparently Kim Jong-un's wife singing in 2011 on #DPRK TV." Credits on the video clearly point out Ri Sol Ju as the singer and there's no mention of the Bonchonbo Electronic Music band.

We'll keep this updated as more details emerge.
