After firing the guy who was running North Korea's military on Monday, Korean State television is reporting that rather than interview a whole new slate of candidates to replace the departed general, Kin Jong-un found a perfectly suitable replacement: himself.

Reuters is reporting that Kim Jong-un has assumed the role of Marshal of the country's military operations. He now controls the state and the military. Vice Marshal Ri Yong-ho was unceremoniously dismissed from his position due to an "undisclosed illness" on Monday, but most of the evidence points to him being sacked so Jong-un could take his place.
