A 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Japan's largest island on Friday, sending a rush of water toward the shores and trigging tsunami warnings across the nation. Tremors shook buildings in Tokyo more than 150 miles away and temporarily shut down train service in many areas, but there was no immediate reports of major damage. Waves around one-meter high did strike the Miyagi Prefecutre, the site of Fukishima nuclear power plant that was devastated by the 2011 tsunami. Workers at the plant were ordered to seek shelter, but no evacuations were ordered and the warnings were lifted shortly after. Several large aftershocks, in the range of 4-to-6 magnitude were also recorded by the U.S. Geological Survey.
