You thought the media wars had gone as far as they could go with Chris Matthews hoping to blow up Rush Limbaugh's face? Sorry to say you were wrong. On Tuesday night, liberal host Keith Olbermann took a massive swipe at Michelle Malkin on his MSNBC show Countdown, making special use of the words "fascistic" and "lipstick." The conservative blogger's response on her blog this morning involved a glamourous headshot and the phrase "misogynistic freak show." Behold:

• Olbermann:  Naming Michelle Malkin as a "runner up" for the day's "worst person," Olbermann tore into the conservative and her "lunatic fringe" for their role in the scapegoating of author Sharice Carnie Nuenez over an Obama song sung in an elementary school. Carnie Nuenez received death threats, according to Olbermann, "all thanks to the total mindless, morally bankrupt, knee jerk fascistic hatred, without which Michelle Malkin would just be a big mashed up bag of meat with lipstick on it."

• Malkin:  Offering up her preferred lipstick choices--try "M.A.C. Lustreglass in Ornamental ... [b]ecause nothing goes better with fascistic hatred!"--Malkin pointed readers to Newsbusters' report of the liberal rant; the report might be useful, she suggested, for the "99.99999 percent of Americans who don’t watch Olbermann’s misogynistic freak show." Fans got a closer look at those Lusterglassed lips in the black-and-white headshot with which she ended the post, presumably to counter Olbermann's "mashed up bag of meat" comment.

• Malkin-haters: Malkin decided to publish some of the responses to her post. "ONLY A COW," wrote the particularly vitriolic and syntactically-challenged Joel, "would put a GLAMOUR shot of herself."

• Malkin: "Awww, look, it's Washington Post/MSNBC-induced hate mail! How sweet"
