Happy Hour Vid: Colbert Defends 'Tangelo Americans'

Benjamin F. Carlson Jul 2, 2010

This being the 4th of July weekend (had you heard?), it only seems appropriate to turn to one of America's most respected authorities on tanning, picnicking, and patriotism: Stephen Colbert. Here, the Comedy Central host takes the occasion of House Minority Leader John Boehner's tussle with the White House to speak out on behalf of "Tangelo Americans"--people known to have close relationships with their tanning beds. He disputes a number of "stereotypes" applied to this orange minority, in which he includes Boehner and Garfield the cat.

We've all heard it. Oh, orange people don't like to work...Orange people hate Mondays and love lasagna.
