Navy captain Capt. Owen P. Honors Jr. and the other officers involved in the "raunchy" video scandal this January have been censured, the Associated Press reports. The YouTube clips, as The Atlantic Wire described at the time, featured "gay slurs, women appearing to wash each other in the shower, and sailors faking a rectal exam," and "were supposed to provide some comic relief for sailors deployed supporting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan." The Navy didn't find them too funny.

After being relieved of his position as no. 2 officer on the aircraft carrier Enterprise earlier this year, the Associated Press now reports that the Navy has officially decided to censure Honors and four other offices.  That means "it makes it unlikely" that they'll be promoted, but won't end their careers. A Navy investigation found that the captain produced "25 videos with inappropriate scenes."

The Virginian-Pilot newspaper originally reported the story and uploaded the videos in January, noting that they were mostly "shot and edited with government equipment, many of them while the Enterprise was deployed supporting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan."
