Comment of the Day: Hands Off My Sugar

Michelle Obama and this week's New York Times Magazine agree: Sugar is bad for you. Maybe so, concedes commenter oletex 98, but government shouldn't infringe on our right to gobble it by the handful.

I'm sorry but reasonable quantities of sugar in one's daily life is not toxic. Life without sugar, especially real sugar, is a life not worth living. Articles like this make me want to stockpile weapons for the imminent death brawl with our government if they try to take away sugar one day because some joyless hack of a scientist and journalist doesn't like it. Most of us want good information. Thank you for telling me that if I consume too much sugar, it will cost me and hurt me. You better get bent if you try to tell me I can't have it when I want to have it.
