President Obama is on a tour through Alabama today, surveying the aftermath of storms that have killed over 200 and "decimated" homes and buildings throughout the state. His first reported remarks on the extensive tornado damage echos almost exactly the words of Alabama Senator Richard Shelby yesterday: "'I've never seen devastation like this."

The President visited Tuscaloosa, Alabama, a city that was hit particularly hard by the powerful tornadoes. Of the recovery efforts, Obama promised today to the state's residents, "We're going to make sure you're not forgotten." He's pictured above walking through the wreckage alongside Gov. Robert Bentley and mayor of Tuscaloosa Walter Maddox.
