This Saturday we will gather around our televisions, computers, or (if we're very lucky) the bar at Churchill Downs, to experience the "fastest two minutes in sports," the Kentucky Derby. There's always a lot of buzz this time of year about actual racing speculation and mint julep recipes. But we found a lot more figures that can be applied to tomorrow's race. Here's a list:

• Purse size: $2 million
• Admission price per minute of racing: $262, if you bought a ticket at the average price of $555
• Female jockeys racing in this "year of the woman:" 1
• Female trainers participating: 2
• Fillies running: 0
• Amount by which business is expected to fall off at a New York bar that once hosted off-track betting: 80 percent
• Longest shot ever to win: Donerail, 1913, 45-1 odds
• Fastest run: Secretariat, 1973, 1:59.40
• Slowest: Stone Street, 1908, 2:15.20
• Number of Fillies who have run: 37, most recently Eight Belles, in 2008
• Number of Fillies who have won: 3 (Regret in 1915, Genuine Risk in 1980, and Winning Colors in 1988)
• Number of mint juleps served on Derby Day: 120,000
