Jetman Flew Across the Grand Canyon and No One Watched

The Swiss daredevil we told you about on Friday, who worked very hard to ignore -- and then follow -- most of the FAA rules about flying experimental aircraft in the United States, has finally done his flight over the Grand Canyon. But poor Yves Rossy (aka Jetman) seems to have shot himself in the foot, media-wise. While many outlets (including this one) held their breath in anticipation of his eventually canceled flight Friday, the Las Vegas Review Journal noted today, "not one member of the media -- who had gathered the day before to watch him fly -- was there to witness the milestone of his first American flight," which he rescheduled for Saturday. Good thing he got it on tape:
