--Fausto Llerena, caretaker of the nearly 100-year-old Galapagos tortoise named Lonesome George. George, a specific type of tortoise from Pinta Island in the Galapagos, is believed to be the last of his kind. As detailed in the The Washington Post, efforts to get George to mate with potentially genetically similar tortoises from other islands have largely failed over the years but Llarena isn't giving up just yet..
