The Latest TSA Outrage: A Cancer Patient Forced to Remove Adult Diaper

This isn't going over well. The Transportation Security Administration forced a 95-year-old woman suffering from cancer to remove her soiled adult diaper before boarding a flight to Michigan on June 18. Jean Webber, the daughter of the elderly woman, said a TSA agent explained that her mother's underwear was "wet and it was firm, and they couldn't check it thoroughly." Webber told CNN her mother is "very ill" and that the TSA's procedure "needs to be changed." In response, the TSA issued a statement saying "We have reviewed the circumstances involving this screening and determined that our officers acted professionally and according to proper procedure." Outrage over the incident is already in full gear. A sardonic Lewis Rockwell fumes. "We have here the perfect suicide bomber: A 95-year old terminal woman" and The Atlantic's resident TSA critic Jeffrey Goldberg bristled, "This egregious example does indeed suggest that al Qaeda has won more than it might think it has won."
