James 'Whitey' Bulger spent 16 years as a fugitive before being captured in Santa Monica last week, and the details of where he was during all that time is starting to be filled in. Today prosecutors filed a document with the U.S. District Court, in which the alleged mobster said he visited "Las Vegas on numerous occasions to play the slots." According to the Boston Globe, which got a hold of the filing, Bulger "admitted that he had been a frequent traveler as a fugitive" after being captured by the FBI last week. These trips also included multiple trips to Boston while in disguise and "armed to the teeth," because he "had to take care of some unfinished business," according to FBI Supervisory Special Agent Richard Teahan, head of the FBI's Bulger taskforce. According to the filing, Bulger also admitted traveling into Tijuana to buy medicine and Prosecutors filed the document to argue against Bulger's request for court-appointed counsel. A judge is scheduled to hear that request tomorrow afternoon.
