Lawyers for Dominique Strauss-Kahn have agreed with prosecutors to postpone his next court date two weeks to August 1, The New York Times' William K. Rashbaum and John Eligon report. That gives the district attorney's office more time to decide whether to dismiss the sexual assault charges against the former head of the International Monetary Fund. Strauss-Kahn, shown above after he was briefly locked out of his apartment last month, was arrested in May, but prosecutors have found credibility problems with his accuser, a hotel maid.

Meanwhile, Strauss-Kahn filed a slander complaint in Paris Monday against Tristane Banon, a French woman who has alleged he tried to rape her in 2003. Banon's lawyer said the filing shows Strauss-Kahn's "judicial survival instinct" because "In a moment when anybody would have apologized to the victim, he files claims against her," Bloomberg reports. Strauss-Kahn has called Banon's story "imaginary."
