The ex-girlfriend of George Soros is suing the billionaire and financier philanthropist for $50 million, reports the New York Post. Brazilian soap-opera star Adriana Ferreyr says Soros promised her a Manhattan condo "dream home" that he later gave to another woman. The 28-year-old actress dated the 80-year-old mogul for five years and in that time Ferreyr's suit alleges Soros slapped and choked her during an incident in which she called the police but no charges were filed. She also alleges Soros threw a lamp at her that smashed on the floor and cut Ferreyr's foot. Soros's lawyer, William Zabel, said the suit is "riddled with false charges and is obviously an attempt to extract money from my client, who is a very wealthy man." He said Soros "denies throwing the lamp and totally denies trying to choke her." Soros, who has given to a variety of liberal causes, and recently closed his hedge fund, is worth some $14.5 billion.
