Salahis Turn to Speidi's Strategy for Extra 30 Seconds of Fame
Tareq Salahi say he thinks his wife Michaele -- who came to fame by showing up uninvited at a White House state dinner -- has been kidnapped. Salahi says he was at the couple's winery when his wife called him from a phone number he didn't recognize late Tuesday night, TMZ reports. Michaele said she was going to stay with her mom. But Tareq knew of no such plans and called his mother-in-law, who said she hadn't spoken with Michaele. Tareq thinks his wife was forced to make the calls, and that police aren't taking the situation seriously. Earlier this month, The New York Times' Austin Considine wrote that even though their reality show Real Housewives of D.C. has been cancelled, the Salahis are "determined to extend their fame beyond its proverbial 15 minutes." If this is a publicity stunt, it's pretty twisted.
