Late on Wednesday, former New York Rep. Anthony Weiner and his wife Huma Abedin became parents, welcoming into the world what the New York Post called a "wee Democrat" but they're just calling Jordan Zane Weiner. The roughly seven-pound boy was due to arrive on New Year's Eve, so his birth Wednesday was just a little early. Because it's the Post breaking the story, they get to throw in lines like this to remind us about the sexy tweeting Weiner got in trouble for earlier this year: "Sources close to the family have said the cad dad is already in big debt to the baby boy. If it weren’t for the pregnancy, Abedin, a top aide to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, might have walked out on Weiner quicker than he could tweet an apology, the sources said." Cad dad. Sheesh. Still, Jordan's birth makes for a nice punctuation mark on a pretty rough year for the Weiner-Abedin family.
