Adam Martin 645 Views Feb 23, 2012

In a reminder that military work is dangerous even during training in the Arizona desert, seven marines were killed when their two helicopters -- a two-seat Cobra and a Huey -- crashed into each other in midair near Yuma on Wednesday night.

Update (1:02 p.m. EST): According to the Associated Press, the helicopters actually went down on the California side of the border near Yuma, in a remote part of the Chocolate Mountains. Six of the marines were from Camp Pendleton in California and one was from Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma, Arizona.
