The F.B.I. has finally filled the vacancy on their Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list created by Navy SEALS who killed Osama bin Laden last May, and the unlucky winner is Eric Justin Toth, a 30-year-old alleged child pornographer. The FBI conceived the 10 Most Wanted list in 1950 as a PR strategy, and it turned out to be an exceptionally successful one, grabbing headlines and drafting Americans to help catch its criminals. It means the FBI wants you, and you're going to be getting headlines and cameos in post office fliers around the country until they get you. But filling bin Laden's place was treated as a special occasion -- thus the near year-long delay. Reuters reports that Toth was selected as "the culmination of a lengthy process including surveying its 56 field offices for candidates and approval by top FBI officials."

So what exactly did Toth do to fill the shoes of a mass-murdering terrorist? Toth has already been on the lam for at least four years -- he's already been featured on America's Most Wanted -- after officials at the elementary school where he taught found inappropriate pictures of a boy on a school-owned camera in June 2008. A thumbdrive was later discovered with pictures of three other boys. Toth taught third grade.
