The New York Times scored an interview with one of the prostitutes who came back to the hotel with several U.S. Secret Service agents in Colombia, setting off a scandal here in the U.S., and The Times leads its story with a pretty oddly-selected quote from the Colombian woman: “I tell him, ‘Baby, my cash money,’ ” the unnamed woman tells The Times' William Neuman in the story's first paragraph. 

We say the quote is oddly selected both because it's a little slangy, and because elsewhere in the story, her quotes cast light on a lot of other illuminating details of the affair. For one, her account differs with the rumors that the women had sought out Secret Service agents specifically because of their position. "They never told me they were with Obama," she says. "They were very discreet." So at least the agents have that going for them as the government investigation seeks to interview as many of the women involved as possible.
