Shockingly, the allegations that former Pennsylvania State University football coach Jerry Sandusky raped kids have hurt donations to his charity, and it's now making plans to close.

The Second Mile, a program for troubled youth through which Sandusky met his alleged victims, issued a statement on Friday saying it had "requested court approval to transfer its programs to Arrow Child & Family Ministries," a Texas-based youth ministry that also operates in Pennsylvania, Maryland, California and Honduras. It's also looking to transfer millions of dollars in assets because it just can't operate anymore.

It's kind of amazing Second Mile has continued its operation this long. As The Associated Press notes: "The announcement was widely expected after Sandusky's November arrest plunged The Second Mile into crisis. Donations dried up, volunteers fled and organizations that once referred children to The Second Mile said they no longer would." Yeah, child-rape allegations have that effect on a youth outreach charity.
