"Murder at the Churchill Downs" sounds like the name of a gas station murder mystery novel. Unfortunately, it's a real thing. Just a few hours after the crowds cleared from the Kentucky Derby, a body was found inside a stable at Churchill Downs racetrack in the early part of Sunday morning. Police haven't identified the man yet, who Bloomberg reports was hispanic, and they have no evidence the man has any connection to the Downs or the Derby. They are investigating his death as a homicide, though. "He did sustain injuries that lead us to believe he was involved in some type of altercation," said a spokeswoman for the Louisville Metro Police. Track security were the ones who found the body, and called police around 4:50 a.m.

The body was found in a barn occupied by trainer Angel Montano Sr., who didn't have a horse running in any of yesterday's races, the AP reports.  The barn where the body was found is about 150 yards away from the barn where Derby winner I'll Have Another is stabled. A Churchill Downs track official said workers need to be licensed by the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission in order to have access to the back of the barn where the body was found, according to this USA Today report
