Update (11:40 a.m. EDT): New Hampshire Avenue is back open, according to Washington, D.C. police.

Update (11:28 a.m. EDT): DCist is reporting the all clear has been given, and that the package "turned out to be nothing particularly suspicious." Expect the street to reopen shortly.

The Washington, D.C. Police Department tweets that it's responding to a report of a "suspicious package" at 601 New Hampshire Ave., NW, which happens to be the embassy of Saudi Arabia.

The section of New Hampshire Avenue where the embassy sits has been closed down, police report, and a bomb squad is en route. We'll keep you updated as this develops. Meanwhile, police tweeted this overhead image of the street affected:
