Republicans Want Rubio to Save Them Just Like He Saved Nancy Reagan
Nancy Reagan hosted the Romneys in her house yesterday, then offered her (and "Ronnie's") support for the Republican nominee. Reagan reportedly served lemonade and cookies to Mitt and Ann Romney yesterday, then issued a statement saying "Ronnie would have liked Governor Romney's business background and his strong principles" and she "looks forward" to seeing him elected president. The knock on Romney throughout the Republican primary process was that he couldn't win over the old guard of the Republican establishment, but you can't do much better than an endorsement from the Reagan family. Sure, it comes after he's already locked up the official nomination, but a blessing from Nancy Reagan (and a tacit endorsement from her late husband) is still a blessing for Republicans.
