Chick-fil-A Vice President of Corporate Public Relations Donald Perry passed away Friday, reportedly from a a heart attack, according to The Atlanta-Journal Constitution's Leon Stafford, who reports the sad news that coincides with a pretty heavy P.R. week for Perry's company. After Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy's remarks on gay marriage spurred boycotts from gay rights supporters and an Appreciation Day from defenders, the company said in a statement it wanted to leave political debate behind. That hasn't stopped the culture war from broiling on around it though. Here's an excerpt from Chick-fil-A's statement about Perry:

Don was a member of our Chick-fil-A family for nearly 29 years. For many of you in the media, he was the spokesperson for Chick-fil-A.  He was a well-respected and well-liked media executive in the Atlanta and University of Georgia communities, and we will all miss him.
