Today in Sports: Will they or won't they have a track and field run off?; Michael Phelps dials it back a notch, and Tiger Woods is on a roll.

• After originally agreeing to hold a run-off on Monday night to break a tie in the women's 100-meter final, Jeneba Tarmoh has apparently dropped out of the race. Tarmoh and Allyson Felix were ruled to have tied for third place in the 100-meter race at the U.S. Championships last week, but since only one of them can be on the U.S. team in London, USA Track and Field had to devise a tiebreaker to settle the dispute. Tarmoh's agent told The New York Times this afternoon that she will withdraw from the tiebreaker, but USATF says they have not been informed of that yet. Tarmoh was originally ruled the third place finisher before officials reversed the decision to a tie, so she apparently still feels that she has a case to make for being the rightful winner and racing in the tie-breaker would relinquish her claim. Guess you'll have to tune into NBC tonight at 8:00 ET (when the race was scheudled to be run) and find out what's really going to happen. [The New York Times]

• Michael Phelps' coach has announced that even though the swimmer qualified for eight events at the London Olympics this summer, he will only compete in seven, meaning that Phelps won't be able to duplicate his eight gold medal performance from Beijing. [@BillShankin]
• Uh oh, golf world. After going two years without a victory (and gaining an ugly car crash/sex scandal/divorce) Tiger Woods has now won three tournaments in seven starts, becoming the first player to win three PGA events in one year since Jim Fuyrk in 2010. Bo Van Pelt, the man who finished second to Tiger at the AT&T National this weekend says Woods is playing better than anyone in the world right now and he is close to earning back his No. 1 ranking. Woods says: “I remember there was a time when people were saying I could never win again. That was, I think, what, six months ago? Here we are.” [Bloomberg]
• Saudi Arabia gave in to pressure from the IOC and agreed to let women compete at this year's Olympics, but now Saudi women athletes back at home are worried that men who are angry about the decision will crackdown on their activities even more after the Games end. [AP]
