Update (5:08 p.m. EDT): Obama called Harris's daughter, reports CNN's Justin Lear reports via Twitter, who says the president expressed his condolences and "passed on his thoughts and prayers."

Original: This is just a very unfortunate story: The owner of the Akron restaurant where President Barack Obama dropped in for breakfast Friday morning died a few hours after serving him, the Akron Beacon Journal reported. Obama visited Ann's Place and ordered "eggs over easy, bacon and wheat toast. He added grits at a waitress’ suggestion," according to the Times Reporter of Dover-New Philadelphia, Ohio. Shortly after the president's visit, according to the Beacon Journal's Stephanie Warsmith and Rick Armon, Josephine "Ann" Harris, the 70-year-old proprietor, was taken away by an ambulance and died of an apparent heart attack.

Frankie Adkins, Harris' sister, said "She loved Obama." We're sure the president is offering his sincere condolences to Harris' family right about now.
