It's Hard to Be the Inevitable Winner When You're Not Winning
Mitt Romney didn't have a packed schedule on Sunday. The only thing he was supposed to attend was a function in Colorado, but a plane crash at the airport he was supposed to land at gave him the day off.
The Denver Post reports a man crashed while attempting to land an "experimental, home-built" plane at the Pueblo Memorial Airport on Sunday morning. The unidentified man didn't survive the crash, but thankfully no one else was hurt. He was the only person travelling in the aircraft at the time. Officials expected big crowds for Romney's supposed speech Weisbrod Aircraft Museum, which is on the airport grounds, but after the crash they cancelled the event. The airport only has one runway open, and it's not big enough for the plance Romney was planning on traveling in. It would have been the first time Romney spoke in Colorado, an important swing state, in over a month.
