Top Stories: Good news for Germany's Angela Merkel as the country's Federal Constitutional Court gave a go-ahead on " one of the key pillars of her strategy" to handle the European debt crisis.

World: The paper's lead report on the violence in Libya and Egypt over the video entitled "Innocence of Muslims." 

U.S.: A look at Chicago Teachers Union president Karen Lewis, who may be Rahm Emanuel's "match" — "She is biting, pushy, witty, unwavering. He is biting, pushy, witty, unwavering." 

New York: State Senator Roy McDonald, a Republican who voted for gay marriage, is having trouble focusing his campaign on any other issue. 

Business: As the Federal Reserve plans to stimulate the economy and "the imminence of the election makes it inevitable that the decisions reached by the Fed’s policy-making committee will be judged through a political lens." 

Sports: Humboldt State has "California’s only full-fledged N.C.A.A. Division II football team" and kept it  "in part, to give residents behind the Redwood Curtain something to cheer."
