Harry Reid Fine After Car Accident Hospitalization

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was involved in a car accident on Interstate-15 and has been taken to University Medical Center in Las Vegas, but he's reportedly okay. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, six cars were involved in the accident, four of which were in Reid's highway caravan.  Per Twitter it came out that no one was seriously injured. The New York Times' Adam Nagourney tweeted: "Harry Reid associates say he's fine after car accident in Nevada; walked his way into emergency room." An official statement later revealed that the Senator suffered "hip and rib contusions." His wife, who was in a serious car accident in 2010, was not in the car.  Reid was the only person taken to the hospital, Mike Blasky of the Review-Journal reported. Jon Ralston tweeted that a source close to Reid said that he's "Just a little sore." 

Once the dust cleared and it appeared that the consequences of the accident were not dire, some folks on Twitter began commenting on the overreaction:
