Former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky has been given a sentence of not less than 30 years, but not more than 60 years in prison, essentially guarantee that 68-year-old convicted child abuser will stay in jail for the rest of his life. Sandusky was convicted this summer of 45 counts of child sexual abuse, with each one carrying a possible sentence of 10 years. In a statement released last night, Sandusky continued claim his innocence, blaming his victims, prosecutors, and Penn State University for orchestrating a conspiracy against him. His lawyers—one of whom spent last night buying drinks for Penn State students at a local bar—say he plans to appeal.

At the hearing today, three of the victims were able to make statements to the judge, who told Sandusky that his insistence on denying his crimes "makes you dangerous", according to Patriot-News reporter Sara Ganim.
