According to George Zimmerman's defense team, the accused killer "needs to be able to travel more freely," which apparently is really hard to do with an ankle bracelet. A Florida judge didn't buy that excuse today, denying a motion that Zimmerman has been compliant with his travel restrictions so far and forcing him to leave it on. The Orlando Sentinel's Jeff Weiner reported:

With regards to Zimmerman's GPS monitoring, the defense argued in one of several motions, he "needs to be able to travel more freely... for reasons of his own personal safety and... to have the ability to assist his defense" by meeting with witnesses, including experts.

Currently Zimmerman will remain free on a $1 million bond with GPS monitoring while he awaits his trial in June.
